Application low temperature bearings

Low-temperature bearings are not relatively high-temperature bearings. The resistance to low-temperature bearings is not just to meet the requirements just in the low-temperature environment. The condition that also needs to be met is to reduce the appearance of frictional heat during operation and run for a long time. The process can still be kept at a low temperature. This kind of bearing is a low-temperature bearing. Here is the difference between a low-temperature bearing and an ordinary bearing.

Different materials and crafts

Low-temperature bearings are designed and processed by special structures and are treated according to the JB/T1460-2002 “Technical Conditions for High-Carbon Chrome Stainless Steel Rolling Bearing Parts”. Ordinary bearings are roughly divided into raw materials, forging, heat treatment, grinding, and assembly. The two have different production process requirements and specific parameter standards.

Different production materials

Low-temperature bearings are often manufactured with stainless bearing steel 440C materials. It can be selected according to ASTM-A276 or stainless steel and 9CR18MO according to the GB/T3086-1982 standard. “Technical Conditions for High-Carbon Chromium Stainless Bearing Steel”. Ordinary bearings have bearings made of steel, stainless steel, alloy, plastics, ceramics and other materials. Compared with low-temperature bearings, their material choices are more widely selected. The fever and low temperature tolerance of materials are different.

Different work temperature

The working temperature of a low-temperature bearing is below minus 60 degrees Celsius. Some bearing materials can meet the working temperature at -253°C, which can still work normally. The specific temperature is given separately according to the working conditions, which is better than the low-temperature resistance of ordinary bearings. Ordinary bearing is usually working normally at room temperature. The low-temperature tolerance ability is weak, and there may be poor operation in the low temperature.

Different friction coefficients

The friction coefficient of low-temperature bearings is lower. In order to reduce the occurrence of friction and heat during operation, the friction coefficient of the low-temperature bearing is generally low, and it can still maintain a low temperature during long-term operation. The work of ordinary bearings at room temperature allows the bearings to increase to a certain extent, so there is no rigorous requirement for the friction coefficient.

Different types of lubrication

Low-temperature bearings usually select bearing lubricating oil with lower viscosity and cannot use lubricating fat. The main reference standard is to see the pouring point of lubricating oil. There are also requirements for the performance of lubricating oil resistance to low temperatures. In the process of lubrication, ordinary bearings can be reasonably selected according to the specific needs of lubricating fat or lubricating oil, and the range is wider.

Different application fields

Low-temperature bearings are mainly used in various types of liquid-body pumps, such as liquefied natural gas pumps, liquid nitrogen (hydrogen, oxygen) pumps, butane pumps, liquid pumps for rocket missiles, cosmic aircraft, etc. Ordinary bearings can be used for the composition of mechanical equipment, machine tool spindles, and various mechanical parts joints.
