High Temperature Bearings 400°C (HT4) are special industrial bearings designed to operate in extreme heat environments up to about 400°C (and sometimes short peaks up to ~420°C), where standard bearings would fail.
The HT4 deep groove ball bearings suffix has the following advantages:
The HT4 bearing is a high-temperature, deep groove ball bearing designed for slow-speed operation, with the following main specifications:
- Temperature capability: up to 400°C maximum
- Low-speed operation: designed mainly for slow-rotation applications
- Material: Made from chromium steel material
- C5 clearance design compensates for temperature-induced distortion
- Surface coating: Manganese phosphate coating (according to EN ISO 9717) for corrosion protection and wear resistance
- Lubrication: Special MoS₂ (molybdenum disulfide) high-temperature grease forming a dry lubricating film when oil evaporates
Available Configurations HT4 bearings usually come in two versions:
- Open type (no shield)
- ZZ type – two heat-resistant steel shields.
Typical Industrial Applications:
The Suffix HT4 bearings are widely used in high-temperature industrial processes, such as
- Brick kiln carts
- Ceramic furnaces
- Glass manufacturing lines
- Steel rolling conveyors
- Die-casting machine and aluminum furnace
- Etc…
